Common Questions

What Customers Ask Before Starting a Project

What types of projects does Lindquist Machine Company support?

Complex manufacturing programs are supported across design build, build to print manufacturing, machine modernization, custom automation systems, large-scale assemblies, and regulated manufacturing environments. Programs range from precision components and sub-assemblies to complete turnkey production lines and integrated systems across industrial, food and beverage, medical, nuclear, and other technically demanding industries.

How early should LMC get involved in a program?

Most programs run more smoothly when key decisions around manufacturability, schedule, and execution are aligned before production begins. Many customers involve LMC during concept development or early engineering phases to help reduce downstream issues and improve project continuity.

Does Lindquist support both design build and build to print programs?

Yes. Both customer-directed build to print manufacturing and fully integrated design build programs are supported. Programs can range from fabrication, machining, and assembly support to complete machine development, controls integration, and automation systems managed under dedicated project leadership.

How does Lindquist handle confidentiality for programs still in development?

Confidential and IP-sensitive programs are supported through controlled assembly environments, structured access, and coordinated project leadership. Dedicated lockdown assembly bays provide physical separation between programs, while drawing access and project documentation are managed according to program requirements. Additional confidentiality protections are available based on customer needs.

How does project communication work throughout a build?

Every program is coordinated through a dedicated project leader who serves as the primary point of contact from kickoff through delivery. Weekly updates, milestone reviews, project photos, videos, and ongoing communication help maintain visibility into the schedule, production status, and open items. Project status, next steps, and potential issues are clearly communicated throughout the build.

Can remote teams stay involved during production?

Yes. Remote customer teams are regularly supported through video walkthroughs, virtual meetings, production updates, and participation in remote Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) when on-site presence is not possible. Distance does not prevent visibility.

Can Lindquist support programs that require phased drawing releases?

Yes. Phased drawing releases are common in complex manufacturing programs, and execution workflows are structured to support them. Manufacturing can begin on released portions of a program while additional drawings and revisions continue moving through engineering review and production planning.

Does Lindquist support regulated manufacturing programs?

Yes. Manufacturing programs that require enhanced documentation, traceability, and quality oversight are supported across regulated environments, including nuclear-related programs. Quality systems and documentation requirements are aligned with individual program needs, including ISO 9001:2015 certification and NQA-1 compliant quality assurance program requirements.
