What You'll Be Doing
You'll own your machine from setup to teardown. Every part that leaves your station meets blueprint spec because you made sure it did.
- Set up and operate Manual Boring Bar equipment to machine precision holes and bores per blueprint
- Perform highly diversified milling, boring, drilling, and tapping on carbon, stainless, and aluminum parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Handle part setup, in-process inspection, and final measurement using precision instruments
- Select, set up, and replace tooling; adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment (6S standards)
- Take ownership of workmanship, inspection readiness, and compliance with safety and quality procedures
What You Need
- 3+ years of setup and operation experience on Boring Bar
- Proven ability to machine to tight tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong grasp of machining principles — tooling, speeds, feeds, and tolerances
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges)
- Knowledge of 6S and lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Sharp attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
Preferred (You'll Stand Out)
- Experience machining large fabricated or cast components
- Quality inspection background
