About our Work Environment

The production facility can be noisy, so hearing protection is available. All associates, vendors and visitors must wear safety glasses when in the production facility. The shop is partially climate controlled.

Manual Bar Machinist

We are a growing custom machine builder working in diverse markets; we specialize in bringing innovations alive for our customers. Ideal candidate will (and has displayed by action):

Position description:

Setup and operate Manual Horizontal Milling Centers (Boring Bar). Perform highly diversified and complex milling, boring, drilling and tapping of products under computer control. Load parts, cycle machine and detect malfunctions in operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Run custom low volume parts, inspect work, communicate with coworkers regarding production, maintains safe, organized and clean work environment.

Position requirements:

– 5+ years of set-up and operation of Manual Boring Bar (Horizontal Milling) equipment

– Must be able to do multiple setups daily
Must be accustomed to machining to tight tolerances

– Blueprint reading

– Demonstrate knowledge of 5S and Lean principles to drive continuous improvement

– Commitment to continuous improvement through self-education and company sponsored training

– Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

We are a growing custom machine builder working in diverse markets; we specialize in bringing innovations alive for our customers. Ideal candidate will (and has displayed by action):

– Have a minimum of 10 years of machining experience with conversational control including programming and set-up experience (Hurco is a plus).

– Have experience with handling and setting up large parts.

– Experienced in rigging and safely lifting and moving large parts.

– Experience with 4th axis, set up and running

– Apply continuous learning & innovation to improve team/company productivity, throughput, and communication.

– Exhibit the ability and desire to maintain 5S of work area – keep this area as show place.

– Willing to perform minor maintenance to machine (i.e. changing fan filters, maintain fluid levels, cleaning, etc)

– Interpret blue prints; measure and provide quality control of parts producing

– Finishing operations, including grinding, polishing, sanding, deburring

– Be flexible in meeting customers’ changing requirements (WORK OT WHEN REQUIRED)
